Our trip trip to Scotland took a full day. We left Roanoke at 9:00AM in a one-way rental car bound for Dulles airport. From there we took a short flight to JFK where we...waited. The scheduled 4-hour layover turned into six hours because of a "change of service." We ended up on a different plane than planned. No matter, once that flight left, we were still crammed in like sardines in economy class. Although, it is worth nothing that the food Delta served was actually much better than normal; happy for small satisfactions. Even better, the process at the Edinburgh airport was super efficient. No waiting at customs, no waiting for our checked bags, no waiting for the airport bus into the city center, no waiting for a cab to take us to our flat, and no waiting for our Airbnb host to let us in to our flat. When all was said and done, we arrived at our flat at 11:00AM. Edinburgh is 5 hours ahead of Roanoke.
