We have noticed the same thing here in Scotland that we have noticed on our other travels throughout Europe: no bugs. And by bugs, we are not referring to the kind Mike engineered for the CIA. We definitely hope there are lots of those being put to good use; doubt there will be a blog post about that (feel free to visit the spy Museum in Washington DC to see some of Mike’s work). We are talking about insects. Our accommodations in Edinburgh, in Inverness, in Fort William, and on the Isle of Lewis and Harris, have come without screens. No need. There are no bugs to speak of. No swatting, no bites, no stinging, no insect repellent. How nice. Another benefit of vacation travel.
